I agree with you on The Giver. The book was so amazing!! But movie didn’t capture the magic of the books at all
I would replace The Polar Express for Dune in your list. But that would be just me.
100% The Giver adaptation was a huge disappointment. I taught the novel for several years and cried though the ending every single time with every single class.
The novel is a thing of beauty. I wish they were able to recognize that more to give us a better adaptation! - N
